Day 10

departure

Welcome to Italy! At your arrival at Florence airport, meet your driver for a private transfer to reach your hotel in Florence.

Accommodation and relax.

After your check-in and some time to take a break after your flight, meet your assistant for a briefing to know more about your itinerary and enjoy a welcome dinner in Florence.

Then return to your hotel and overnight in Florence.

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby in Florence and start your private guided tour.

Your experience begins in the Florence Accademia, where you will skip the lines to run into Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the jaw-dropping David. As you admire this larger-than-life statue, your expert guide will explain what makes it one of the greatest sculptures ever – and why Michelangelo was prouder of this than his work in the Sistine Chapel.
Your Florence tour continues with a walking tour of the city to reach the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, more commonly known as Florence Duomo. This incredible church was built in 1436 and still boasts one of the largest domes in the entire world. The story of how the dome was built is one of the greatest epics of the Italian Renaissance.
You will explore the third great wonder of Florence: its streets. Your guided walking tour takes you first to Piazza della Signoria, an open-air art gallery where Michelangelo’s David was originally supposed to stand. It was quickly relocated, but you can still see a replica at the entrance to the titanic Palazzo Vecchio.
Standing in the shadow of this fortress-like palace, your guide will teach you about the Medici; the family of bankers who underwrote the Renaissance – it wasn’t all sweetness and patronage with them though. Your guide has some shocking tales to tell.
From Piazza Signoria you’ll discover the greatest Uffizzi Art Gallery and of course Ponte Vecchio, Florence’s most picturesque bridge. As you walk by, your guide will tell you stories making the city alive around you. With a personal headset for each guest, you’ll be able to hear the guide crystal clear. The guide will also give you great restaurant recommendations and other tips to help you get the most from the rest of your time here.

Then, return to your accomodation and overnight in Florence.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby and transfer to your hotel in Monterosso.

On route, stop in Lucca to explore the city. You will have time to explore this amazing town, known for its intact Renaissance-era city walls, which have eleven bastions of different shapes and dimensions. The walls remained intact as the city expanded and modernized. When they lost their military importance, they became a pedestrian promenade. Also famous for its historical villas: during the Renaissance period, the villas were both places for recreation and active agricultural enterprise closely linked to that production of silk which had made a fortune for the rich Lucchese merchants.

At the end of your experience, continue your ride to Monterosso.

Accomodation and overnight in Monterosso.

Meet your guide in the hotel lobby. Explore the magnificent Cinque Terre today with your guide.

Cinque Terre is the name of a district that encompasses five glorious towns, where small houses are surrounded by lush nature.
