In this itinerary you will start from Monopoli, a city located in the heart of Puglia, in the province of Bari, to then get to know the birthplace of Domenico Modugno: Polignano a Mare. You will continue your journey towards the UNESCO heritage of Alberobello and conclude with an oil tasting in a Masseria in the heart of the Itria Valley.

Monopoli is defined as the city of a hundred districts. Of great charm is the old town, founded on a fortified Messapian settlement of the fifth century. b.C., over the centuries suffered a countless change. Its oldest nucleus dates back to the Middle Ages, characterized by narrow and winding alleys that suddenly open onto small squares, surrounded by ancient houses.
The fulcrum of the old city is represented by the port, a deep natural inlet that guaranteed welcome and shelter to those who came from all over the world, first Greeks and Romans, then Venetians, Amalfitans and finally the Spanish.
During the walking tour you will see the small castle located in a nice square. The houses and small buildings are charming. Walk under an archway which opens onto the sea and a long promenade along the harbour. This castle is very unique, and the best part is the view of the blue sea of Monopoli, with the characteristic surroundings and the fishing port. Then admire the splendid Baroque cathedral dedicated to the Madonna della Madia, protector of the city. It looks small, but it’s actually huge, and it contains fine ornaments inside, elaborately decorated with gold and various kinds of colored marble. It contains several side altars, all of them magnificent.

It is difficult to imagine a more beautiful city: alleys, arches, spiers, a fort, ancient walls, light coming from many directions, a beach with crystal clear water.

After your guided tour, you will have a lunch in the heart of the historic center of Monopoli.

Then, you will dedicate some hours to a unique fishing tourism experience.
At the end of your experience, return to your hotel.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby and transfer to Polignano a Mare.
Today you will discover the 7 km of coast of Polignano a Mare, passing through coves and ancient houses by the sea, up to the charming seaside village of San Vito.
The colors and scents are unique: those of eternity, of the Mediterranean. Discover all the curiosities of the most suggestive coves, inlets and marinas of our territory.
At the end, you will taste the typical panino con polpo fritto (fried octopus sandwich) with a glass of beer or white wine.

After this experience, return to your hotel.

Meet your driver in the hotel lobby.The first stop on our tour is an ancient Masseria near Ostuni.
The Masseria is the heart of a farm of about 30 thousand hectares where superior quality organic extra virgin olive oil is produced from monumental millenary olive trees.
The farm, one of the oldest and most original in Puglia, preserves intact the testimonies left by the populations that have followed one another.
The guided tour begins in the monumental olive grove to discover the oldest specimens and the fascinating sculptural forms where the story of the cultivation of the olive tree is told, of the underground oil mill among the oldest in Puglia and of the historic premises of the farm, where the history of olive processing and life in the fortified tower farmhouse.
Followed by a blind tasting of 3/4 organic extra virgin olive oils on dry friselline.
After the tasting, you will continue towards Alberobello, where you will have a lunch.

After your lunch, meet your guide in Alberobello to starts a guided tour of the UNESCO Heritage in Puglia.

The main tourist attraction of Alberobello are the trulli, magical houses that you can also visit inside with this guided tour and our tour guide.

With this guided tour of Alberobello you will discover the hidden curiosities of the famous city of trulli, singular peasant constructions built with dry stone walls and culminating with a cone-shaped dome. You will get to know the Aia Piccola district and the Church of Sant’Antonio up close.
After these experiences, return to your hotel.
