The Great Vineyards tasting by Jeep – SIC03

Private experience

A tasting that spans the history of wine in Sicily. Starting from the Rosso del Conte, the first wine from a single vineyard produced in Sicily, born on the San Lucio hill, where the Count Giuseppe Tasca d’Almerita planted ad Perricone and Nero d’Avola sapling.
But the story doesn’t stop here. Twenty years later, his son Lucio Tasca made an equally visionary bet when, unbeknownst to her father, she followed his intuition that she international grapes would have grown luxuriant in Regaleali, also taking on new subtle aromatic qualities in this terroir unique And this is how, first in Sicily, he planted 4 rows per type of Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon. And it is precisely following these experiments that, from the Vigna San Francesco, Cabernet was born Sauvignon, a powerful and austere wine with a freshness typical of different latitudes and Chardonnay, rich and intense, a sumptuous traits. In the 1984 to celebrate fifty years of marriage with wife Franca, Count Giuseppe creates Nozze d’Oro, a blend of Inzolia and Sauvignon Tasca. A wine double white: two vineyards, two native grapes (Inzolia e “Sauvignon Tasca”), two harvest periods, two personality, two age.
